Collages is a poster I created to advertise a fictional exhibition about the life and work of the designer Ivan Chermayeff; the poster I created, as the wording "collages" says, represent his individual artistic production, the collages, but not only.

LANGUAGE
Studying the forms of plastic and figurative expression typical of the designer, is clear the post-impressionist, cubist and abstract derivation (from posters to logos to collages). Cheramyeff uses the strong contrast between the colors (and the materials), large backgrounds that overlap or approach each other, this is clearly visible in the logos but also in the posters where it uses strong background colors and predominantly sans serif types that recall the cubist forms; in the collages the backgrounds of color are given by the papers, cards, stamps, letters... that he uses.

Collages is therefore an exhibition that contains Chermayeff's style in the name itself; “collages” as contrast, material, form, harmony.
